Economics

EconomicsWhilst most of the main structural elements / constituent parts (CLT, glulam, high performance windows & doors) are manufactured in mainland Europe / Scandinavia, every other process of prefabrication & installation takes place here in the UK (even down to the manufacture of the Val-u-therm insulation in our unique CLTherm) – bringing jobs and money into the local economy. A local facility also allows us to respond quickly, so that once the main timber panellised elements are imported from Europe we can subsequently process these elements and have them delivered to site on a just in time basis, to be safely erected by our specialist UK based teams. All of which means that building the superstructure, or, indeed, the external envelope can be installed very quickly – the exact nature of CNC machining ensures that the panellised construction methodology is extremely precise, allowing a weathertight shell to be completed well ahead of schedule compared with traditional builds. This can dramatically reduce site prelims and cut the overall build programme and commercially providing a much earlier revenue stream.
